Jennifer reached out to me on facebook after finding this adorable picture of herself in 1984, hoping that I could recreate her 34-year-old sash. Of course I can!
Jennifer was a scout in the early 80s and now runs a troop. I'm sure her kids will enjoy this! The original photo doesn't have much detail regarding the badges, but fortunately, Jennifer still had her old log of what she had earned. And guess what!? - I had all the badges in stock in my shop! Jennifer was so happy:
I am so glad I found you! I have year after year taken a look at ebay and tried to find the badges, and to have it be a "one stop shop" kind of experience was the seal to the deal.
I also had the sash, no problem there! But it took a bit of detective work and some information from Jennifer's friends to figure out some of the insignia pieces. Her council, Vermont, has since merged into Green and White Mountains. I didn't have any of either one, so I used this placeholder. Retired crests are fairly easy to come by too. I wasn't sure if I had the purple flower in stock, but there it was, hiding among the treasures! [Where do I get all this stuff? That's #1 on my FAQ.]
The finished product! :
This photo brought tears to my eyes!
Jennifer, thank you! That's so nice! :D
