Lost pins are so frustrating! As soon as my daughter lost her first cookie pin, I bought a pack of these. I've since used them on every single one of her pins, plus I use them in all my Uniform Services, and I've never lost another single pin since.
I've seen people try to use rubber backs, earring holders, pencil erasers, hot glue (!?!) and all sorts of other DIY solutions, but these are easily the best. All metal, locking in place, no tool required for removal [there is a little spring loaded tab on the back that you must pull on - HARD!] to get the pin off. They are as easy as can be to use - you simply replace the factory back with one of these, and they never ever fall off. Magic! I now use them in all my projects. They are inexpensive, at about $9 for a pack of 40, and they come with this little carrying case, too!
